About Coity Bach Farm
Coity Bach Farm is a smallholding near Talybont-on-Usk in Bannau Brycheiniog, offering Gold Award self catering cottages, lodges, gypsy caravans and wild field camping. We are properly dog, child and family friendly. Expect a relaxed stay, plenty of space and a warm croeso on a working farm.
Location
We are half a mile from the village of Talybont-on-Usk, with its 2 pubs, shop/cafe, post office, bike shop and bike hub. The Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal, Talybont Reservoir, waterfalls and the Taff Trail are all close by.
Brecon is 5 miles away, with a cathedral, supermarkets, cinema, leisure centre, canal basin, river, boat trips and Theatr Brycheiniog. Hay-on-Wye and Abergavenny are both around a 20 minute drive. Within a short drive you can reach Wales’ biggest caving network, BikePark Wales and Zip World Tower.

Cottages & Lodges
Peacock Cottage
A 3 bedroom cottage sleeping up to 8, with a double bedroom, twin bedroom and an upper floor with twin beds plus a futon double. The bathroom has a spa shower/bath, toilet and sink. The kitchen has a full oven, microwave, air fryer, dishwasher and everything needed for up to 8 people. There is a large open-plan living area for family get togethers, an enclosed patio area that is child and pet friendly, and a large hot tub with Bluetooth.
Ty Fferm Hen
The original 1600s farmhouse of Coity Bach Farm. This cottage sleeps up to 6 with an open-plan bedroom (one double and two singles) and a deluxe double sofa bed downstairs. The hot tub is in the stone barn next to the cottage, giving it a cosy, characterful feel.
Ty Bach Twt
Is an insulated wooden lodge with heating, shower room, with a double bedroom and kitchen/living room with a double sofa bed, sleeping up to max 4. There is a patio area outside to sit out and enjoy the farm animals. The lodge has its own solid hot tub with seats & jets.
Ty Olwyn Bach
A cosy little lodge on wheels for 2, with fold-down double bed, large shower room, seating area, kitchenette, inside eating area and patio area. A snug space for a simple break.The lodge has its own solid hot tub with seats & jets,
Ty Nofio is our oak-framed swimming pool house. It includes:
Heated pool, 4’10” deep and 16 feet long, with two spa seats and 16 jets
Marble tiled pool room with underfloor heating
Mosaic tiled wet room with underfloor heating
Dining tables inside and out
kitchenette with full cooking/eating equipment
On the upper level, with Juliet balcony and oak veranda, you will find:

Outside there is an oak undercover decked area with aviation egg chairs, seating and hammock. The patio has a large fire pit, hardwood benches, BBQ and al fresco metal dining chairs. This enclosed, pet friendly space has a 30 mile view across the Black Mountains, centred on Sugar Loaf.
Gypsy Caravans & Ty Gwenyn
We have 2 traditional-style gypsy caravans, sharing showers, toilets, laundry and a small kitchenette. Simple, characterful spaces for a different kind of stay.
Ty Gwenyn sits on the farmstead in its own area. It is an original Quaker’s carriage that has been modernised for full enjoyment, with:

Wild Field Camping
Our wild field camping offers plenty of space, big skies and proper views of the Black Mountains and Bannau Brycheiniog. It suits campers who like a more natural, simple style of camping on a small working farm.
You have room to spread out and enjoy the peace, with walks and bike routes from the gate. Facilities are basic but practical, and you still have easy access to Talybont-on-Usk and all the area has to offer.
Farm Produce & Breakfast Hampers
We produce our own meat and sausages here at Coity Bach, including our True Taste of Wales Gold Award winning sausages. Guests can pre order a breakfast hamper with produce from the farm for £7 per person per day.
Hampers usually include a good mix of farm produce so you can enjoy a proper cooked breakfast without leaving the farm. Local shops and cafes in Talybont-on-Usk and Brecon are close by if you want to try more local food during your stay.
Other activities
include fishing, riding, climbing, caving, walking, exploring waterfalls, rivers, lakes and reservoirs, kitesurfing & sailing.
Within a ten minute drive you are at the biggest caving network in Wales, 20 Minutes to Bike Park Wales and the same to Zip World Tower.
Walks and mountain Biking from the door. The Usk Valley Trail can be joined in our field, direct access onto the Bryn Hill with fantastic views of Llangors Lake, Brecon and our tallest mountain Pen-y-Fan can be enjoyed.
Mountain Bike trails regional trails start 200 yards away.
